Bomberman Online Japan is about to go into beta. The game is the sequel to Online Bomberman, rather than the Dreamcast’s Bomberman Online. From September 25th the Phantasy Star Universe client software will be freely available to download on PC. Users will have to purchase a ‘game key’ for Y1000 to activate the online mode and then pay the usual charges after a 10 day trial period. [Read]

Games Radar just posted a great article on videogame systems of the ’70s. All the old favourites are in there, Atari, Intellivision, Magnavox and there’s a load of stuff we’d never seen before. Japanese Rockman fans got a big treat today. A Rockman festival was staged in Tokyo Fashion building. As well as getting the chance to try the new Wii Rockman game, attendees got to see cosplayers galore and a gallery of concept art. [Read]

In a bizarre reversal of fortune the Xbox 360 has managed to sell out in Japan. The console has been flying off the shelves in recent weeks, largely due to Tales of Vesperia. Microsoft have apologised to customers, and claim new consoles will be available from September. [Read, via Xbox 360 Fanboy]
