Petition for Final Fantasy VII Remake Sent to Square Enix

September 9th, 2007 ThreeHeadedMonkey Posted in Playstation No Comments »

An online petition calling for a remake of Final Fantasy VII was submitted to Square Enix recently. Over 20,000 people lent their support to the cry for a new version of the Playstation classic. There have been some rumours that the remake was already underway, particularly as this year is the game’s 10th anniversary, and Squeenix have been pretty keen to hype it up.

Unfortunately a customer support person responded to the petition saying that they were currently very busy with all their other projects at the moment – and weren’t working on a remake. Interestingly, the response included several qualifiers, such as ‘at this time’, ‘current plans’ (our highlighting) and the tone of the message suggests that a remake is something that may well happen in the future.

This would make a lot of sense, after all they’ve remade most of the others, so surely number VII is going to get a revamp at some point.

Japanese mothers, in their infinite wisdom like to make sure their little terrors are well fed. That doesn’t mean well fed in the extra large super wopper cheeseburger sense, but in the wholesome goodness, nutrients and vitamins sense.

With a seaweed exterior and filled with delicious rice, this PS controller will stop rumbling faster than a sixaxis lawsuit. Like the Sony marketing department, the controller is surrounded by vegetables. Available for a mere $499, or $599 with fried prawns.

June 18th, 2007 ThreeHeadedMonkey Posted in Playstation No Comments »

Here’s a picture of the new Guncon controller for Playstation 3, as seen in Famitsu. The Guncon controller will be bundled with Time Crisis 4. A couple of analog sticks are cunningly built into the design, enabling you to peek round corners to pick off those pesky bad guys.

The older Guncons needed a CRT screen to play on, but this version can be used on all screens, meaning you’ll be able to use it with your big shiny HDTVs.
