Final Fantasy XI event Sells Out in Osaka

We heard about a Final Fantasy XI event in Osaka, yesterday and headed down there to get a few pictures. The event was much bigger than we were expecting, and was a massive sellout, so we couldn’t get tickets. The queue outside was pretty colossal, and what we could see of the show floor looked completely packed. After Super Mario Galaxy’s muted reception we were pleased to see that gamers can still turn out in force when needed. This shows just how popular Final Fantasy is in Japan, the queue was hundreds of people long. It was a pretty mixed group of people too.

We also got a picture of long time Final Fantasy fan, Takeshi Inue who was brave enough to wear this special Mog hat. There were a lot of ticketless folk outside just hanging around to catch the atmosphere, and some folk came from all around Japan just to be here.

On the show floor fans could get their hands on exclusive special edition goodies such as character wrist straps, and best of all, rings based on the actual rings used in the game, which were going for a mere 11,000 yen.

You could also hear developers discuss the games, and purchase those Mog hats that we want so very, very much.
