The next-generation hype-machine is gathering pace, and speculation on the new consoles’ specs is hotting up. Last week there was a rumour that the next Xbox will have a graphics chip based on the Radeon HD6670.
That’s a card we’ve heard of here at JGG, because it can function as part of a virtual two-card setup up with the JGG PC’s processor, an AMD 3850. Imagine our surprise when we took a closer look at the processor box and noticed its part number:
AD3850WNGXBOX.
Is that a co-incidence? NGXBOX? Sounds awfully like a hint to us. Running the 3850 with a 6670 can give a significant performance boost, according to various online benchmarks, so it would seem to be a good choice for Microsoft.
