New Donkey Kong Jungle Climber details

July 18th, 2007 ThreeHeadedMonkey Posted in DS 1 Comment »

Nintendo just launched the official website for Donkey Kong – Jungle Climber. The forthcoming DS game will come out in Japan on August 9th.

As for the plot, it seems Donkey and Diddy are out vacationing on San San island, when they see a giant banana on top of a mountain. Donkey heads off to get it – but the journey isn’t easy. King K. Rool is up to his old tricks again..

The gameplay is going to involve using the shoulder buttons to ascend the levels. There are screenshots of four worlds, but we don’t know if that’s all the levels or not.

There’s also a vs battle heading on the site, but it’s greyed out at the moment. I guess we’re going to be hearing about wi-fi play soon.

Japanese magazine An An have brought a new training game to the DS. Women’s Strength Immediate Up promises to change the lives of it’s players. You can choose what kind of women you want to become and then do exercises to help you achieve your goal. If you play it every day, you can re-invent yourself in just three months! There are a range of goals to choose from. The game let’s you pick a target personality type such as dramatic, alluring or married. Wonder what the ‘become married’ exercise will involve – speed dating otaku, maybe?

By the way we’re not sure if that photo is supposed to be a before or after shot, perhaps that depends on the goal personality.

We don’t know too much about the game, but we hear it will involve time travel and burning stuff, both of which are pretty fun.

The training game trend on the DS shows no signs of abating. The latest entrant in the genre is this Origami training game. You’ll be able to view animated examples of paper folding, which you can then try to emulate. There’s also the option to increase the animation speed and challenge yourself to keep up. Cleverly, you can start and stop the animations using the DS’s microphone so you don’t have to let go of the paper you’re folding. Minagara Oneru DS Origami comes out August 9th at Y3990.

The long rumoured Nintendo DS camera is soon to become a reality. The killer app? Face Training! The game is the work of Intelligent Systems, with input by Japanese beauty expert Fumiko Inudo. Presumably aimed at helping beautiful women get even more beautiful, players must move their features to match the face pictures on-screen. The second screen will display a reference picture taken using the camera.

We’re hoping to join the ranks of the beautiful people when the game comes out August 2nd.
